Jatoil ( http://www.jatoil.net/) announces a project to grow sugar substitute stevia in conjunction at Vietnamese jatropha plantations
In Australia, Jatoil announced a joint venture to develop high-value crops that will be planted alongside its oilseed bearing jatropha trees, resulting in a dual income stream to boost returns from its biofuel farms in Vietnam. Initial focus of the joint venture, which is being undertaken with two unnamed Australian companies, will be on a plant known as stevia.
Stevia is a natural sweetener that is in demand for leading global food companies including Coca-Cola, Cargill and Pepsico to replace artificial sweeteners and sugar in their food and beverage products. Its leaves have up to 300 times the sweetness of sugar.
Studies will be undertaken into the planting of stevia as an inter-crop between rows of jatropha trees, a potentially valuable diversification because it allows for early generation of revenue on the biofuel farms before jatropha trees reach maturity.

Biofuels are a wide range of fuels which are in some way derived from biomass.
