National Demonstration Against Agrofuels, 25/9 - Further Details

As most of you will be aware, a National Demonstration Against Agrofuel Subsidies will take place in Portland, Dorset on Saturday, 25th September.

The demonstration is organised by Campaign Against Climate Change, NOPE (No Oil Palm Energy, an active Dorset group against W4B's plans in Portland), Biofuelwatch and Food not Fuel.  There will be a rally outside the gates to Portland Port where W4B are planning to build an agrofuel power station which will burn palm oil from South-east Asia.  The rally will be followed by workshops and entertainment.

Next Wednesday, 15th September, there will be a smaller London-based demonstration 

and public meeting, in advance of the Portland demonstration:

- 5-6.30 pm outside the Department for Energy and Climate change, 3 Whitehall Place

- 7pm public meeting at SOAS (room number tba), School of Oriental and African Studies, Thornhaugh Street, off Russel Square (Russel Square tube)- with speakers including Andrew Butler from NOPE and Kenneth Richter from Friends of the Earth.
