We have two weeks to crank up the pressure on Development Secretary Andrew Mitchell, so that he demands action on biofuels when he meets European development ministers on 14 May. He must act now to stop biofuels ruining the lives of people like Amina Ali in Tanzania, who told us how she's struggling to survive since a UK biofuel company grabbed her family's land. >> Watch the video of Amina and tell the UK government to stop supporting biofuels 370,000 square kilometres of land has already been taken from people like Amina for biofuels. And more land will be taken if the government keeps supporting mass biofuel production. We know that we can make a difference. ActionAid campaigners have already helped persuade the government to freeze their biofuel targets until a review later on this year. But now we need Andrew Mitchell to make sure the meeting with European development ministers on the 14 May results in: 1) A strong public statement against biofuels. 2) A call for the European Commission to fully investigate the damage that biofuels are having on the world's poorest people Nearly 4,000 people have already sent him messages.
