On 25th and 26th June, the Green Investment Bank (GIB) will be holding its Annual Review meetings in London and Edinburgh.

Together with the UK Without Incineration network (UKWIN) and local campaigners, we will be protests against GIB support for big biomass and waste incineration:
London: Wednesday 25 June 2014, LSO St Luke's, Jerwood Hall, 161 Old Street, EC1V 9NG. There will be a banner protest with leafletting from 8 to 9am.

Edinburgh: Thursday 26 June 2014, Assembly Rooms, 54 George Street, EH2 2LR. As well as a banner protest, we will be holding a visual stunt from 8.30 to 9am. If you would like to find out more and take part in the stunt, please email us as soon as possible on biofuelwatch@ymail.com
Please help us to spread the word about these protests. If you use Facebook, please invite people to the event at https://www.facebook.com/events/767518509967612/?fref=ts

We're calling on the GIB to:

1) Revoke their destructive loan to Drax which has helped it to burn millions of tonnes of wood and even more coal;

2) Steer clear of Helius Energy's two big biomass power stations in Avonmouth & Southampton in England, and two more consented big biomass plants in Grangemouth & Rosyth in Scotland. All four of these plants would rely on imported wood from North America, where ancient forests have been cleared for the pellet industry; and

3) Stop financing polluting waste incinerators which release toxic air emissions and make climate change worse

Biofuels are a wide range of fuels which are in some way derived from biomass.
