[biofuelwatch] Biofuel firm LanzaTech wins US grant to build demonstration plant

Biofuel company LanzaTech has been granted $4-million by the US government to take its next major step in making jet fuel and diesel. The funds will enabel the company to create a demonstration-scale facility aimign to producit 3 million gallons annually of a fuel called Lanzanol. The fuel is made from an ethanol extracted from waste gases from steel manufacturing, and another ethanol created from 'agricultural residues'. It is claimed that the new fuel produces carbon savings of 65 per cent compared to conventional jet fuel.
